Filebeat access, replacing ELK entirely

Enable DataKit's Beats Collector support to directly receive Filebeat output.

Build end-to-end full-chain observability

Build end-to-end full-chain observability

Logs are unified with data from metrics, application links, and other dimensions, aggregated on a single platform for display and analysis, enabling rapid problem identification.

Background and objectives

Xiaoxiong Bowang is a pioneer in China's mobile internet going global, formed from the former Baidu International Global Mobile App and DAP advertising platform business.

Use cloud platforms like AWS, including overseas regions.

Three existing ELK clusters are used to collect and analyze system logs from different business line applications. Annual resource costs reach hundreds of thousands. Only when the app encounters problems does it check the logs; it is rarely used regularly, resulting in relatively low input-output data.

Some business systems are outsourced for development, making it impossible to control the quality of outsourced development teams, and problems cannot be quickly identified. We hope to find a product to replace self-built ELK clusters and reduce costs. At the same time, when business system issues arise, we can quickly identify the root cause.

Solutions

Configure DataKit

Collect, report, and analyze data on infrastructure, application links, and logs through the Guance DataKit.

Configure DataKit
Enable Beats data collection
Enable Beats data collection

By using unified data tags, metrics, logs, and application link data are linked to form contextual meaning.

Quickly locating system faults

When problems arise, root cause investigation is conducted through data association and drilling within a unified product interface.

Quickly locating system faults
ELK replaced with Guance
ELK replaced with Guance(AWS Oregon Node)

Unified collection and linkage of application logs using a single collector;

The log engine uses AWS OpenSearch Service, and through storage layering, users can quickly retrieve frequently accessed data, while storing old and rarely visited data in the more economical S3.

Customer outcomes

By Guance unified log collection, it replaces self-built ELK clusters and reduces resource costs by 60%.

Analysis of indicators, links, and log correlations to quickly locate system faults.

By Guance deploying SaaS nodes on AWS, users can quickly activate and reduce daily operations and maintenance costs for self-built observation platforms, supporting continuous product iteration and new feature launches.
